Cowley drug-blitz suspect caught in Sedgwick

Oscar Galindo – a man wanted by Cowley County authorities since he fled during a large-scale drug blitz last year – has been arrested in Sedgwick County.

Galindo, 41, was booked into jail just after 5 p.m. Friday, according to information provided online by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Dept. He’s being held for Cowley County authorities in connection with a January 2010 drug raid in Ark City.

His bond is set at $500,000. Charges against him include conspiracy to distribute meth, cocaine or marijuana.

Galindo is listed by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation as one of the state’s most wanted fugitives.

Galindo’s nephew, Patrick Galindo, is facing federal drug distribution charges in connection with the same drug blitz.

Oscar Galindo was one of the final suspects still at large in the case.

The Galindos were considered central figures in the bust that led to the arrest of more than a dozen people. Local law enforcement spent years orchestrating drug buys and learning the hierarchy of the organization before making the arrests.
