Rock Man Pleads Not Guilty To Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Jury Trial Set For June

A Cowley County man charged with attempted second degree murder entered a not guilty plea Monday and a jury trial has been set for June 10.

Pretrial motions are set for April 30 inside the Cowley County Courthouse in Winfield.

Marty Anderson, Jr., 33, is accused of shooting and injuring his wife, 32-year-old Elizabeth Anderson, at their home northwest of Rock in Cowley County in November.

On the day of the shooting, Anderson’s two step-daughters were allegedly bound and held hostage inside the home before the were able to escape and removed from the area by law enforcement.

Marty Anderson had previously been arrested and was on bond for allegations of rape, criminal sodomy, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and contributing to a child’s misconduct. He remains confined inside the Cowley County Jail.
