Work Release Inmate Found Friday After Skipping Job

An escaped inmate was found after he failed to follow through on his work release privileges.

A Cowley County Sheriff’s deputy began checking areas in Winfield and Ark City Friday for Tyreese Hardiman, who escaped from the Cowley County Jail.

According to the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office Activity Report Monday, Hardiman is a work release inmate and was supposed to walk to work at McDonald’s in Winfield. But, that didn’t happen.

He was later located and arrested at 525 N. B St. in Ark City then brought back to jail.

Hardiman, now 19, was arrested Feb. 8, 2018, along with with Shakur Hardiman, for burglaries in Ark City at Greendoor La Familia Restaurant and a Cenex gas station.
