Ark City Commissioners Hire New City Manager

Ark City commissioners hired a new City Manager at their last board meeting.

Randy Frazer will succeed Nick Hernandez, who accepted the same job in Dodge City in November.

Frazer, who is city administrator of Moundridge, Kan., will enter his contract with the City of Ark City on May 26, according to commission minutes.

“I’m going miss this great community and everyone that calls it home,” Frazer posted on his Facebook page Monday. “At the same time I’m excited for this next adventure in life!!! I had an opportunity to work with a great group of people and I’ll miss them greatly!”

According to a Facebook post from the City of Moundridge, Frazer served as its city manager for eight years.

“Under Frazer’s leadership the City constructed a new water tower, a new waste water treatment plant, received several housing grants for new housing construction and renovation, replaced and upgraded City equipment and significant upgrades were made to the city’s municipal airport,” the City of Moundridge wrote. “Just last week city crews began site preparations for a $5.29 million electrical system upgrade.”

Frazer’s last day at Moundridge will be May 22.
