Creekstone Farms Premium Beef has donated nearly three tons of beef this week to three Cowley County non-profit organizations, according to a press release Wednesday from the meat processing plant in Ark City.
Non-profit organizations continue to experience increases in requests for help since the outbreak of the coronavirus, leading to dwindling supplies and a greater need for donations, according to Creekstone. The following organizations in Cowley County received approximately 2,000 pounds on Wednesday to help people facing food insecurity:
– Angels in the Attic, Ark City
– Udall Food Pantry, Udall
– Joseph’s Storehouse, Burden
“Cowley County has a great network of people willing to work together to help our population,” said Becky Reid, Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent for K-State Research and Extension. “It is time for all to do what they do best: Creekstone Farms providing quality beef, food pantries helping families, and communities helping our citizens.”
This is Creekstone’s second donation to support Cowley County organizations who serve people with food insecurity. In April, 6,500 pounds were donated to local food pantries in Cowley County and the Lord’s Diner in Wichita.
