Man accused of murdering wife set for trial

A new trial date of Jan. 14 has been set for Reginald Johnson who is accused of first degree premeditated murder of his wife Amy Whiteman. The case was originally set for early December.

Georgia Cole, spokeswoman for the Sedgwick County Attorney’s Office, said Johnson remains in custody in lieu of $250,000 bond.

Whiteman is a former Cowley County resident and graduate of Central Burden High School. She lived in Wichita with Johnson when she was shot multiple times.
