A malfunction on a hot water tank is being blamed for a fire that caused about $500 damage to an Arkansas City residence Monday afternoon, according to the Ark City Fire Department.
The fire was contained to a small room where the heater is housed. No one was injured, the fire department reported.
The house is on W. Radio Lane and occupied by Chasity Bain.
