Police in Arkansas City are looking into a weekend report of sexual assault. No arrests have been made in the case, according to Chief Sean Wallace.
A 19-year-old Ark City woman reported Saturday that she had been raped Friday night. A 25-year-old Newkirk man was identified as the suspect.
Investigators interviewed all parties involved and collected a rape kit and other evidence. It was determined that sufficient evidence did not exist for an arrest.
Wallace said the case is still under investigation.
