A man riding a motorcycle was seriously injured and transported to the hospital Saturday following an accident on K-15 near the Sumner-Cowley line. The man’s name and his current condition have not been made available.
The wreck occurred around 11 p.m. on a straight stretch of highway about a half mile west of the Cowley line in Sumner County. Witnesses told investigators that the man was eastbound when a car passed the motorcycle too closely, forcing bike and rider into the south ditch.
The man ? who appeared to be in his 40s, according to an officer at the scene ? was not wearing a helmet but did not appear to sustain life threatening injuries. The bike was an older model Yamaha.
Mulvane EMS transported the man to the hospital. Sumner and Cowley County Sheriff’s personnel were at the scene.
