An Arkansas City man was trapped in his car about 20 minutes following a head-on collision with a truck late Friday morning in the 800 block of W. Radio Lane.
Aaron Jay Light was driving his 2003 Toyota Camry eastbound as Selina Marie Graham was driving her 1997 Ford truck westbound. Graham told investigators she reached down to pick up a checkbook from the floor and apparently moved the steering wheel left, into the eastbound lane.
Graham’s truck drove into the path of Light’s car, according to the? Ark City Police Department. The two vehicles collided blocking both traffic lanes. Firefighters used the jaws of life to free Light, who was wearing his seat belt.
Graham was cited with one count of inattentive driving.
