An electrical short is being blamed for a house fire at 4553 312th Road, southwest of Arkansas City, Monday evening.
The ACFD received an alarm at 8:49 p.m. Smoke was showing from the eves of the two-story rental house when the first firefighters arrived.
The fire in an upstairs bedroom was quickly extinguished. Smoke damage occurred in other areas of the house occupied by Janet Shrewsberry.
Nobody was injured.
