A man riding a mini motorcycle attempted to cut across the Sedan City Park Friday night, struck a cable and was thrown from the motorcycle, suffering fatal injuries.
John D. Thomas, 22, of Sedan, was riding a 2003 Honda mini cycle about 9 p.m. when he left North Street and tried to cut through the park grounds, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The accident report states that Thomas struck a cable and was ejected. He was not wearing a helmet.
