Wichita teen hurt in wreck by Sedan Thurs.

Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon about one mile east of Sedan on Independence Road, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Amber Bolden, 16, of Wichita was driving a 2008 Chevrolet truck when she reached down to adjust the radio. The truck ran off the road. She over-corrected. The truck went into the south ditch, through a barb wire fence and overturned several times before coming to rest in the yard of a private residence.

Bolden was able to get out of the truck by herself but a passenger, Nicholas Raffety, 19, Elk City, was ejected, the Patrol reported.

He was taken to the Sedan Hospital and then transferred to Wesley Medical Center by EagleMed. He was listed in fair condition Friday. The accident report states Bolden was transferred to Wesley by ambulance but she was not listed as a patient on Friday.
