An elderly Winfield man managed to escape injury Monday when his truck went into a ditch and rolled over onto its side, according to the Cowley County Sheriff’s Department.
Keith D. Leake, 81, was traveling on 81st Road south of Winfield when his 2003 white Dodge Ram went off the west side of the road and into a ditch. The accident occurred around 10 a.m.
The vehicle turned over onto the driver’s side. Leake was trapped in the truck for a brief time.
Leake’s vehicle was damaged but Leake did not require transport to the hospital.
