Cold front expected to bring strong weather

It looks like a wet week is ahead with severe storms and damaging downburst winds possible for south central Kansas later today as a strong cold front plunges south across the area.

Strong storms capable of producing small hail and torrential rains will be possible this morning and into the afternoon across central Kansas. Strong to severe storms are a concern as the cold front moves across south central and southeastern Kansas.

Large hail is possible with the damaging winds and heavy rains.

The National Weather Service said storm spotters may be needed this afternoon and evening across the area. Thunderstorms are forecast Wednesday through Friday.
