Wellington man hit, killed while riding bicycle

A Wellington man was killed Wednesday when he was struck by a car as he rode along U.S. 160 Highway on his bicycle, according to Tracy Heath, Wellington’s police chief.

Clifford Bradley, 52, was hit around 7 p.m as he was westbound on a section of the highway that is within the city limits. Bradley was struck by a dark-colored Chrysler driven by a 16-year-old male.

Heath would not release the boy’s name due to his age.

The driver told police that the sun was shining in a way that affected his visibility and made it impossible to see Bradley. The accident is still under investigation. No citations have been issued thus far.
