Two women walking in an Arkansas City neighborhood found the body of a local man Sunday afternoon, according to police chief Sean Wallace.
Jerry Joe Bailey, 42, was found dead in the backyard of his home in the 300 block of N. Eighth. Police are investigating the incident as a suspicious death, Wallace said.
Bailey had been identified by his middle and last name Sunday but police said Monday his full name was Jerry Joe Bailey.
An autopsy will be performed on Bailey’s body to determine a cause of death. Homicide has not been ruled out because it was an unattended death.
Police were at the scene most of the day Sunday conducting an investigation.
