Winter weather is likely to last through week

Eskimos would be perfectly happy here the next few days with the sub zero wind chills predicted for south central Kansas through the week.

We can offer them the possibility of snow developing over central Kansas late tonight and maybe some accumulation by daybreak. Snow may continue to fall over southern Kansas Tuesday morning with one to two inches near I-70 possible.

Wind chills – yes, don’t forget the wind chills.

A second weather system is expected in the area Wednesday night and Thursday with rain, drizzle, snow and – low wind chills.

We have to admit Sunday started out pretty good. Arlan Anglemyer, a weather observer for the National Weather Service, recorded 58 degrees for the high on Sunday and six degrees for the low. The wind chill was six below mid-mornng.
