Local DJ, wife busted after pot bust Tuesday

Arkansas City disc jockey Marshall Ice and his wife, Megan Ice, were arrested late Tuesday when authorities searched their home and turned up roughly one pound of marijuana, Ark City Police Chief Sean Wallace said.

Several law enforcement agencies were involved in executing a search warrant on the couple’s home in the 1900 block of N. "C" Street. Officers uncovered the marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia inside the home.

Marshall Ice, 32, and Megan Ice, 28 were arrested and face charges that include possession of marijuana with intent to sale within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia and no drug stamp tax. Each had a bond of $7,000 set and both had bonded out by Wednesday morning, according to a jail official.

Marshall Ice is a local radio personality who owns and manages KACY Radio.

Alisha Call, a spokesperson for the school district confirmed that Ark City students had been interns at the station in the past. As it stands now, the school district will no longer be sending students to intern at KACY, Call said in response to an e-mail inquiry.

The Cowley County Drug Task Force, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, Ark City Police, the Cowley County Sheriff’s Department and the Highway Patrol were involved in serving the warrant.
