Webster Roth making run for city commission

A fourth candidate has joined three others who are competing for two of the seats open on the Winfield City Council.

Webster Roth joined Taggart Wall in efforts to unseat one of the incumbents. Both incumbents – Tom McNeish and Michael Ledy – have filed for additional terms. Wall run unsuccessfully for city council two years ago. This is Roth’s first run at a city commission seat.

No one has filed for the three seats being vacated on the Arkansas City Council by Patrick McDonald, Joel Hockenbury and Scott Margolius.

In Atlanta, Arlene Fisher, Sandi Marion and Vicki Clark have filed for the city council. Incumbents W. Dennis King, Veronica Bohrer and Lawrence Edgar Clark have not filed.

In Dexter, incumbents Brian Kuntz, George Reimer and Kent Killingsworth filed for new terms. All five seats are available.

In USD 465 based in Winfield, three seats are open. Incumbents Lyle Weinert and Vick McClung are running for additional terms.

The filing deadline is noon Jan. 27. Arkansas City and Winfield council candidates file at their city clerk’s office. Others may file with their city clerk or at the county clerk’s office at the courthouse.
