Filing deadline passes, contests are finalized

The filing deadline for the city and school board elections passed at noon Tuesday. More people filed Monday and Tuesday. Others can be elected by write-in votes. There will be no primaries because of a change in the election law the last legislative session.

Four more filed for a seat on the Arkansas City Commission – Pennyann Waresak; Scott Margolious; Bob Matthews and Gordon Fry.

USD 463 school board has three additional candidates: Shonda Green, Joe Leiblie, and Mitchell Kratochvill.

Connie Redford, Denise Wheeler and Joyce Wonser filed for seats on the USD 462 board.

Joe Woodward, Aaron Watters, James Steinbacher and Robert Barrett joined Daren Reese in the USD 470 race.

Ed Young, Jason Drake, Michael Waggoner and Rocky Randall filed for seats on the Dexter City Council. Steve Joyce filed for Dexter mayor.

Veronica Bohrer, Caroline Wilson and Darren Underwood joined four other candidates for a seat on the Atlanta City Council.

In Udall, Christopher Lette filed for mayor.

Kyle Wham became the second candidate for the Burden City Council.

Lewis Kuchar and Dennis Shurtz joined the race for a seat on the Cowley College board of trustees.

Mike Bergagnini filed for another term on the Parkerfield city council.
