Interest in the city and school board elections is picking up as the filing deadline nears. All eight Cowley County cities have vacancies to fill during the April 7 general election.
The filing deadline is noon Jan. 27. Arkansas City and Winfield commission candidates file at their city clerk’s office. Other candidates file with the county clerk’s office at the courthouse. A primary will be held March 3 if necessary.
