Burden man killed by train in Herington railyard

A Burden man ? who was a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad ? was run over by a train and killed early Sunday, according to news reports.

Saxton L. Haselwood, 26, Burden was killed shortly after 3 a.m when he was struck by a train in the railyard at Herington, according to a report in the Salina Journal. Union Pacific Railroad police and the Herington Police Department are investigating.

Haselwood was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Topeka for an autopsy.

He was a May 2006 graduate of Winfield’s Southwestern College.
