Truck, motorcyle collide east of Strother Field

An Arkansas City man suffered minor injuries Saturday morning when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck east of Strother Field.

Alexander Bergkamp, 30, was taken to William Newton Hospital for the treatment of possible injuries, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol. He was wearing a helmet and was conscious at the scene.

Bergkamp was heading north on 85th Road when he struck a 2006 Ford truck that was making a left turn from 85th to 212th Rd.

Anthony Charvat, 28, was the driver of the truck and was not hurt.

A passenger in the truck, three-year-old Emma Charvat, also was uninjured. Both Charvats were wearing safety restraints, according to the report. It was not immediately know whether either driver was issued a citation.

The accident occurred just before noon.
