UPDATE: Winfield woman is in fair after crash

A Winfield woman injured in an accident Saturday at 142nd Road and 51st Road has had her condition improve considerably, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Sara Ray, 23, was in fair condition Monday evening at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was in intensive care for a time but was responsive by Sunday and expected to recover fully, law enforcement officials said.

The driver of the vehicle, 21-year-old Andrew Ray, was also taken to a Wichita hospital and treated in the emergency room. He was released Saturday.

A young child, Rawson Ray, was also treated and released on Saturday.

Bryce Carter, 18, Oxford, and Katelyn Cummings, 16, Conway Springs, were passengers in a truck that collided with the Rays’ Dodge Neon. Neither Carter or Cummings was injured.
