Southwestern College has a number of events planned for its annual homecoming celebration this weekend.
In addition to scheduled events, there are reunions for soccer, campus players, classes ending in 4 and 9 ? from 1959 to 2004 ? and a 51-plus reunion for anyone whose class has already celebrate a 50th reunion.
The homecoming schedule is show below:
FRIDAY
10 a.m.?Jinx Invitational Golf Tournament. To sign up, contact Brad Sexson at (620) 229-6161 or e-mail him at brad.sexson@sckans.edu. The cost is $75 per person or $300 per team. This fee includes green fees, cart, three drink tickets, range balls, and prizes.
Noon ? Class of 1969 Welcome Luncheon. Meet at Burger Station, buy lunch, and meet at Island Park.
2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. ? Registration for Homecoming, Pounds Lounge.
5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. ? All-class Homecoming dinner and campaign kick-off in Stewart Field House.?Award recipients include Jim Reed, ’64, Alumni award; Traci Lungren, ’04, Young Alumni award; and David Seaton, Ambassador award.
8 p.m. ? Theatre production of "The Norman Conquests," Messenger Auditorium.? Tickets are available by calling (620) 221-7720.
9:30 p.m.? ?Bonfire and pep rally, north end of the soccer field.
SATURDAY
10 a.m. ? Homecoming parade, Main Street between 15th and 10th Street.
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ? Alumni registration, Stewart Field House foyer.
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ? Book signing for "Winfield’s Golden Era of Sports" by Winfield native Bob Hartley, Stewart Field House foyer.
11:15 a.m.?Outreach worship service, south patio of the Roy L. Smith Student Center.
11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. ? Homecoming picnic, cost $5.25 per person, children under 6, $2.50 in Stewart Field House.? Tickets are available at the door.
1:15 p.m. ? Class reunion gatherings, Sonner Stadium.
1:30 p.m. ? Homecoming football game, SC vs. Bethany College.
2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. ? Fine Arts come-and-go reception, Darbeth.
4 p.m. to 5 p.m.?Communications and English reunion, Christy Hall lower level.
5 p.m.?Alumni soccer game, SC soccer field.
5:30 p.m. ? Class reunion dinners at various locations.
8 p.m. ? Kaleidoscope concert, Richardson Auditorium.
SUNDAY
9:30 a.m. ? Alumni breakfast buffet, Roy L. Smith Dining Hall. Cost $5 per person.
10:50 a.m. ? Homecoming worship service, Grace United Methodist Church.? Dr. Mel Cheatham ’55 (Samaritan’s Purse) will be the guest speaker.
11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.?Sunday brunch buffet, Roy L. Smith dining hall. Cost $6 per person.? No reservation necessary.
1:30, 4, 8 p.m. ? "The Norman Conquests" theatre production, Messenger Recital Hall.
