Dick Merriman, president of Southwestern College, has been elected chairman of the executive board of Kansas Campus Compact.
He leads a board of college presidents and other educational leaders committed to advancing service learning and civic engagement for Kansas college students.?
Member institutions of Campus Compact work toward enhancing students’ responsibility, citizenship, and awareness of the community while reinvigorating education’s concern for improving the quality of life in society.
Currently, 14 community college, private colleges, and state universities are members of Kansas Campus Compact. Nationally, there are 31 state Campus Compact organizations, involving more than 1,000 colleges and universities.
