Gingerbread building contest set for 2nd year

William Newton Healthcare Foundation will host its 2nd annual Gingerbread House Competition in December. Competitors have until Nov. 20 to sign up.

The competition includes adult, young adult, youth and team categories. Entries will be judged on imagination, creativity, construction difficulty and decoration details.

Building permits are $10 for an individual and $30 for teams. Entry forms are available here.

Entries will be on display Dec. 4 and Dec. 5 at the Physician’s Pavilion, 1230 E. Sixth, across from William Newton Hospital.

The event is one of several that are part the foundation’s Gingerbread Festival. A silent auction, a gala and live auction, and a make and take gingerbread decorating event for children are all planned.

Childrens’ groups are encouraged to take part of group day on Friday, Dec. 4, a day designed for elementary students, scout troops and daycare children.

For more information on the activities or for a competition packet, call the foundation office at 222-6275.
