Winf. man faces meth, counterfeiting charges

Four people were arrested in Winfield Wednesday morning when police executing a search warrant on a home found evidence of methamphetamine possession and the counterfeiting of U.S. currency, according to a statement from police.

Officers from the Winfield Police Dept. and the Cowley County Sheriff’s Dept. went to the home at 1217 Ann St. around 9:23 a.m and conducted a search of the residence. County records show the home is owned through the revocable trust of Mary Almedia Greever.

It was not clear in the report what led to the issuing of the search warrant and officers were unavailable for comment late in the day. A substance believed to be meth and items of drug sale paraphernalia were discovered at the residence as was evidence of counterfeiting.

Police also arrested a subject at the scene that had an outstanding warrant.

After completing a search and conducting interviews, the following people were arrested and face charges related to what was found:

Jack Jason Greever, 32, Winfield, faces charges of possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of drug sale paraphernalia, possession of a precursor with intent to manufacture, counterfeiting, aiding a felon and no drug tax stamp.

Greever remains in jail and his bond is set at $67,000, according to a jail spokesperson.

Donald D. Betthauser, 36, Winfield, faces charges of possession of meth and possession of drug use paraphernalia. He made bond and is out of jail.

Annette Greever, 40, Winfield, faces counts of possession of meth, possession of drug use paraphernalia and aiding a felon. She made bond and is out of jail.

Shandi E. Taylor, 24, Winfield, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and faces additional charges of meth possession and possession of drug use paraphernalia. Taylor was still in jail as of Wednesday evening, a spokesperson said.
