Police arrest Wichita robbery suspect in Winf.

Winfield police called out the SWAT team Thursday to arrest a man suspected of several robberies in Sedgwick County.

Matthew Church, 26, was arrested at a home at 1113 E. 19th Ave., lot 1, after police executed a search warrant at the residence. Church was arrested without incident and taken to the Cowley County Jail.

Two adult females at the scene were not arrested and are not facing criminal charges, according to a statement from police.

Church had been arrested before in April as he dined at the now defunct Arkansas City restaurant Mozitti’s. It was not immediately clear why the suspect had been released after the arrest this spring.

Police believe some of Church’s crimes may have involved the use of a firearm, which is one of the reasons Southern Kansas SWAT was called into to serve the search warrant.
