Theft from oil-drilling site is crime of the month

Someone stole more than $14,000 in equipment and supplies from an oil drilling site in Cowley County and authorities want help finding out who is responsible for the theft.

Sometime between early December and mid February, a person or persons entered an oil drilling site on 292nd Rd. in southeast Cowley County. Items taken include a 12 and a quarter-inch surface bit, a nine-inch bit, a seven-and-seven-eighths-inch bit, cutting or welding torches, 24 inch and 36 inch pipe wrenches, a 48-inch chain tong, power washer, electric water pump, space heater and a 55-gallon drum of 15w40 motor oil.

Crime Stoppers has identified this theft as its crime of the month for March. A reward of up to $1,000 is available to anyone who offers information that leads to an arrest.
