Driver gets DUI; Passenger found with drugs

Ark City police arrested one man for DUI and took his passenger to jail on drug charges early Friday morning, according to a written report.

Recardo Ray Hollins Jr., 20, Ark City, was pulled over in the 1000 block of W Kansas for a traffic violation around 1:30 a.m. Roadside testing was completed and Hollins was arrested for DUI.

During the stop, police also spoke with Robert Theophilus Lolar, 33, Ark City, who was found to be possession of substances believed to be pot and coke. He was arrested, too.

Hollins was able to bond out on the DUI charge.

Lolar was taken to the Cowley County Jail and faces charges of possession of cocain with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of pot, possession of drug paraphernalia and transporting an open bottle.

His bond was set at $30,000.
