One person has been released from the hospital and another is in critical condition as a result of the motorcycle accident near the Winfield Fairgrounds last week, according to a hospital spokesperson.
Ben Karr has recovered enough that he has been released from Via Christi-St. Francis. Leanne Martin was downgraded to critical over the weekend because surgery uncovered internal injuries and she was placed a ventilator to assist her in breathing, according to a family spokesperson.
Martin required surgeries to repair her injuries. Once her condition improves she will also require facial reconstructive surgery.
A fund to assist the couple has been established at Union State Bank in Winfield.
