Block Party captains have a couple more weeks to sign up and host a party for Winfield’s annual National Night Out Celebration on Aug. 3.
Anyone interested should contact police officer Cory Nation or Sgt. Chad Gordon at 221-5555, during regular business hours Monday through Friday. The deadline for sign up is July 28 at 5 p.m.
Each year, National Night Out gives neighbors a chance to connect with one another and police in an effort to improve community safety. Emergency personnel from a number of agencies visit block parties to answer questions and chat in a less formal setting.
