Graves Drug stores in Ark City and Winfield are in the process of being sold to a company out of Oklahoma, NewsCow has confirmed.
Local sources familiar with the deal said the sale should be finalized by early September. Day to day operations are not expected to change much.
Graves’ home office is in El Dorado. Calls there seeking comment this week were not returned.
At least some employees at both locations have been apprised of the pending sale. No one asked about the transaction would comment about the name of the purchasing company because the sale had not closed.
The Cowley County Graves locations are the last two stores in a chain started by the Graves family.
