FieldTurf is going down at new local stadium

Artificial turf is being installed this week at the new Richard L. Jantz stadium on the campus of Southwestern College in Winfield. The field will be used by the SC football team as well as the Winfield High School Vikings.

Work on the stadium is continuing and the facility is expected to be ready to host games this fall.

The new field is made of FieldTurf, a synthetic surface meant to mimic real grass. An advantage is that the surface remains green everyday of the year.

The Viking and Moundbuilder logos have already been painted in the end zones.
