An inmate at the Cowley County jail is accused of becoming unruly Friday and kicking a jailer in the face, undersheriff Bill Mueller said this morning.
Around 8 p.m., a jailer was attempting to subdue the inmate, who was not cooperating with jail staff. The inmate is said to have kicked a jailer in the face during the incident.
The jail staffer sustained minor injuries as a part of the scuffle. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the jail and the inmate was quickly calmed.
The case will be forwarded to the county attorney’s office for consideration.
Neither the jailer nor the inmate have been identified by name.
