Two busted after search in Ark City on Friday

Two people were arrested Friday after Ark City police searched a local residence and turned up evidence of drug-related activity.

Officers searching the home in the 1300 block of W. Kansas this morning uncovered what is believed to be drug paraphernalia and evidence of possession and sale of meth and pot. Police also seized $1,100 in cash thought to be proceeds from drug transactions.

It was not clear how much methamphetamine or marijuana was seized.

Megan Dawn Demaree and Carlos Javier Montidoro were both arrested in connection with the case.

Demaree faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and sale or distribution of pot. She is being held on $6,000 bond. Montidoro faces charges of possession of paraphernalia, sale or distribution of pot and possession of meth.

He is being held in the Cowley County Jail on $11,000 bond.
