The old take-a-cab-ride-but-refuse-to-pay-for-it routine landed an Arkansas City man in jail early Tuesday.
Deron C. Galbreath, 46, was booked into the Cowley County jail on charges of disorderly conduct and theft of services. His bond was set at $1,500 and he has since left the jail, according to records there.
Sheriff’s deputies were sent to the 31000 block of 53rd Rd. for a report of a disturbance in progress.
They arrived to find a man, Galbreath, who had called a cab from one of the casinos and gotten a ride. He is said to have refused to pay the fare.
The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m.
