Recent heavy rains are expected to cause some minor flooding along the Arkansas River at Ark City. The river reached flood stage, 17 feet, at 1 a.m. Tuesday.
The river is expected to crest at 20.3 feet sometime early Wednesday and fall below flood stage by Thursday morning.
The Walnut River at Winfield and Ark City, is expected to crest below flood stage.
W. Chestnut west of the Arkansas River and 202nd Rd. west of 21st ? the Rainbow Bend area ? have both been been barricaded due to high water.
