A 7-year-old boy suffered minor injuries Wednesday afternoon after riding his bicycle into traffic and colliding with a small pickup truck pulling a trailer, an officer at the scene said.
The incident occurred on Kansas Ave. between Fourth St. and Fifth St. A witness reported seeing the boy riding his bike on the sidewalk before suddenly turning and entering the eastbound lane of traffic.
The driver had little or no time to stop before striking the child.
Injuries to the boy appeared to be minor, but he was transported to the hospital as a precaution. Neither the name of the child or the name of the driver have been released.
