O’Kelley’s Sports Bar and Grill, a fixture on Winfield’s Main St. for many years, will close this week.
The closing comes two weeks to the day after Union State Bank began foreclosure proceedings against bar owner Blake Porter, the bar and others. O’Kelley’s is located at 1014 Main.
The petition calling for the sale of all assets of the bar was filed in Cowley County Dist. Court on Aug. 3.
O’Kelley’s was listed for sale for several months prior to the filing.
The main building the bar occupies has been the location of a tavern – of one name or another – for several decades, pub patrons said Monday.
