An Ark City dentist was arrested in Wellington Monday evening and faces a charge of simple battery-domestic violence, police there said.
John Seitz, 51, was taken into custody and later bonded out on the misdemeanor charge, according to police chief Tracy Heath. The incident occurred in the 600 block of E. Ninth, in the area of the city’s football field.
Sources told NewsCow the incident involved Seitz’s former wife and occurred at a sporting event the two were attending in Wellington.
Heath confirmed the arrest but declined to elaborate on the circumstances of the incident. He referred future questions to the city prosecutor’s office.
Seitz has been a dentist in Ark City for a number of years. In 2007, he was arrested following a domestic disturbance at his residence in Ark City.
