Andes, Jarboe back in jail after probe Monday

Two local men – arrested as part of a stolen property and drug search last week – were arrested again Monday when they were found attempting to remove scrap metal from a rural property, Cowley County Sheriff Don Read said.

Donald Keith Andes, 48, Winfield and Rusty T. Jarboe, 32, also of Winfield, were taken into custody around 3 p.m. Bond was set at $33,000.

A detective was en route to a stolen property report in 27000 block of 121st Rd. when he found the suspects trespassing on that property. Andes and Jarboe were arrested for trying to remove scrap metal from the property.

Both men had been arrested Oct. 11 on drug and stolen property charges and had bailed out on the Oct. 13.

Both now face additional charges that include burglary, theft, criminal trespass and a count of possession of meth with intent to sale.

The sheriff’s K-9 unit was called out and found narcotics hidden in a pipe near the suspect’s vehicle.
