Winfield Ministerial Alliance’s annual Community Thanksgiving Service is this Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Winfield.
The service begins at 7 p.m. and a social time, with cookies and drinks, will follow in the fellowship hall. Rev. John Martin will be the pastor for this service.
His sermon title is The Wisdom of Gratitude. Martin became pastor of Grace United Methodist Church July 1 of this year.
He is a Winfield native and a graduate of Southwestern College. John’s ministry has included United Methodist pastorates at College Hill and West Heights in Wichita and Trinity in Salina.
Cindy Goertz will make a brief presentation about the Helping Hands Program. The Helping Hands Program is Ministerial Alliance. The thanksgiving service offering is for the Helping Hands Program, which is based in First United Methodist Church.
The Seth and Jenny Bate family and the Praise Band of First United Methodist Church will provide special music for the service.
