UPDATE: 12:55 p.m. – USB officials have been told by Westar that the work will take place next week.

Electrical repairs will make it necessary for Union State Bank to close the drive-up at its S. Summit location this week.

Westar Energy notified the bank that, beginning last Friday, the alleyway in 100 block of S. Summit would be the site of repair work. Thus, bank officials are closing the drive-through at the 127 S. Summit location.

That bank’s lobby will remain open each day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 24-hour ATM out front is also available for use.

The after-hours depository will remain open though that will be closed to through traffic.

Bank officials ask that Ark City drive-up customers visit the bank’s north location at Kansas and Summit. The drive-up at that location is open until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon Saturday.
