Three women arrested; $1K in merch located

Three Winfield women were arrested Monday as part of an investigation into a desktop computer that was taken from the Winfield Wal-Mart last week.

Local police used video surveillance footage to identify a suspect in the computer theft, which occurred Thursday. Two women loaded the machine into a cart and exited through a door near the automotive department, according to a police report of the incident.

Video footage showed the subjects knew where an override button was located to open the door they used to flee. When no one was watching, they slipped behind the counter to unlock the door and then left.

Police were able to develop a description for one of the women and a vehicle the women used.

That vehicle was stopped Monday at 10th and Main when police Sgt. Robbie Delong saw the suspect and vehicle.

When officers stopped the vehicle they located another computer in the trunk as well as numerous other items that had just been stolen. The occupants were taken into custody and interviewed.

Based on the investigation officers made three arrests in connection with the thefts and recovered over $1,000 in stolen merchandise.

Jamie Squier-Kincade, 39, was arrested for three counts of theft. Sabrina Daugherty, 29, and Charolette Jones, 24, were each arrested for one count of theft.
