FFA chapters offering Past and Present event

FFA Chapters in Ark City, Winfield, Burden and Udall are hosting an Argriculture Past and Present Breakfast and are asking for help digging up items to display at the event.

The breakfast is scheduled for 7:30 a.m., Feb. 20 at the Agribusiness Building in Ark City. Biscuits and Blue and Gold gravy, coffee and orange juice will be offered. A speaker from the agricultural community will address the audience at 9:30.

To celebrate the past and present theme, a contest called What is it?, is planned. Anyone can participate by simply bringing old farming equipment to the agriculture education departments at high schools in Ark City or Winfield the week of Feb. 15.

Large items can be delivered the day of breakfast.

The items will be on display and guests will be asked to guess what the item is.

In addition to the contest, organizers are also putting out a call for any old FFA keepsakes, including jackets, plaques, photos and other memorabilia. Items should be submitted to Winfield or Ark City high school by Feb. 19.

It’s important to clearly label the items so that they can be returned to their owners following the event. The event is open to anyone interested in participating.
