An Ark City woman was arrested over the weekend and is accused of cutting her boyfriend’s neck multiple times with a knife, according to police.
Geneana Martineau, 28, faces a single count of aggravated battery. She was arrested and taken to the Cowley County Jail.
Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, officers went to the 800 block of S. Seventh to investigate the incident. They found a 27-year-old man with numerous cut wounds to his neck, according to Ark City police chief Sean Wallace.
Neither the alleged victim or a female suspect were willing to talk about the incident. A neighbor, however, told police the man came to the door and said his girlfriend had cut him.
The night did not end particularly well for the injured man, who has not been identified by name.
He was taken by EMS to the hospital in Ark City for treatment of his injuries and then arrested on a probation violation.
