Man, 68, accused of selling Lortab to agents

Apparently the drug business has no mandatory retirement age.

Stanley Eugene Shorter, 68, was arrested after he is said to have sold 89 pills of Lortab – a narcotic-level painkiller – to an undercover agent, according to a report from Ark City Police.

Around 5 p.m. Thursday, the Cowley County Drug Task Force and Ark City police responded to a complain from a citizen about the resell of prescription medication. Task force agents contacted the suspect and made arrangements to purchase some Lortab pills.

Shorter faces charges for two counts of selling narcotic drugs, use of a telecommunication device to arrange the sale of drug and no drug tax stamp.

The Cowley county Drug Task Force strongly encourages any information from the public in regards to the sales of prescription drugs, or any other illegal drugs.
